The Elegant Spa Town of Harrogate is the base for this 5 day tour visiting the Yorkshire Dales National Park

Without a doubt Harrogate is one of the most attractive towns in Britain. The town centre is an exciting mix of stylish Victorian buildings, enchanting shops, restaurants and Bistro's. Harrogate is also renowned for its ornate floral displays.  Enjoy a scenic journey travelling through the Yorkshire Dales National Park, visiting Grassington and the market town of Skipton, known as "The Gateway to the Dales".  We will also visit some well-known places such as Esholt, used for some of the filming of Emmerdale, and Haworth, home of the Bronte family. There will be time to explore Harrogate and perhaps take tea at Betty's Tea Room.

YOUR HOTEL

The Old Swan hotel, situated in the heart of Harrogate, offers 135 traditionally styled bedrooms overlooking the town or the peaceful hotel gardens. The rooms are all en-suite, have tea/coffee making facilities, Digital TV and free Wifi.

With huge open spaces and broad tree-lined boulevards, antique shops and shopping malls, elegant buildings, abundant greenery, flowers and plants, it is little wonder that the town is a frequent winner of Britain in Bloom awards. Harrogate also boasts the world famous Betty's tearooms, founded in 1919 by a Swiss confectioner, and just round the corner from Betty's is Farrar's of Harrogate, established in 1840 and best known for its Original Harrogate Toffee - the favourite sweetie of the late Queen Mother.

Friday

After breakfast we leave and begin our homeward journey.
