Scarborough enjoys an unrivalled position as one of Britain's premier coastal resorts yet also lies tantalisingly close to North Yorkshires rugged National Park

On this holiday you can enjoy the golden beaches, superb parks and gardens and a wide range of leisure amenities in Scarborough as well as the natural beauty and historic heritage of Yorkshire. Our excursions include a full day to the City of York and a day along the coast to Whitby, the famous fishing port and once the home of Captain Cook, returning over the scenic North Yorkshire Moors and Pickering.

Travel north and enjoy a scenic coastal drive perhaps stopping off at picturesque Robin Hood's Bay, before heading to the famous quaint old fishing town of Whitby, home of Captain Cook. The skyline is dominated by the remains of the ancient abbey known as the inspiration behind Bram Stoker's Dracula. After some free time here, travel through the stunning scenery of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, a landscape of beautiful heathland and lush green valleys.

Wednesday

Britain’s first seaside resort, Scarborough, still has so much to offer, with the North and South Bay separated by the mighty castle and with its superb park and gardens. Discover why it is still as popular now as it was in its Victorian heyday. Walk along the elegant esplanade and through the fine gardens to the magnificent Scarborough Spa, home to a varied programme of entertainment. Explore Scarborough’s medieval castle high on the rocky headland or the traditional fishing harbour. Take the cliff lift down to the beach, wander along the seafront, visit the town centre and enjoy the wide variety of shops, restaurants and cafes or simply relax. Perhaps treat yourself with a traditional cream tea in the afternoon.

Thursday

Today we head for the walled ciry of York and the opportunity for you to visit York Minster, the Shambles and many more of York's attractions.

Friday

Following breakfast we depart from Scarborough on our homeward journey, with High Tea included for those travelling beyond Arbroath
